WHY DO WE WORSHIP?
1. THIS IS HOW I FIGHT MY BATTLES! - WORSHIP AND SPIRITUAL WARFARE
2. Ephesians 6:11-12… (NKJV) Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles (schemes and strategies) of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
3. 1 Peter 5:8-9… (NKJV) Be sober (self-controlled), be vigilant (watchful and aware); because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith…
4. Worship Invites God’s Presence and Where God Is, Darkness Must Flee
5. 1 John 1:5… (NKJV) This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
6. John 8:12… (NKJV) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness but have the light of life.”
7. John 10:10… (NKJV) “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.”
8. Worship Shifts Our Focus to the Power and Victory of Jesus
9. Colossians 2:15… (NKJV) Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.
10. 1 Corinthians 15:57… (NKJV) But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:37… (NKJV) Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
11. Ephesians 5:19-20… (NKJV) Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
12. 1 John 4:4… (NKJV) You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.
13. Worship Declares Truth Which Directly Opposes the Lies of the Enemy
14. John 8:31-32… (NKJV) Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
15. John 8:44… (NKJV) “He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”
